Dear Friends, this page is dedicated to our son Drayden's biggest milestone thus far - turning one! Here are pictures of the big day, which were shared with our closest friends and the people that matter. Looking back at these photos, it sure makes us feel that all the effort and expenses that went into making this one day truly special was worth every drop of sweat, every single penny and every sleepless night. Our heartfelt thanks to William for helping us capture the day's precious moments, and every one that contributed photos as well...and our dearest friends for sharing our special day with us and making it all the more memorable!
The Party Invites
We designed the birthday invites ourselves, and we made them to look like tickets! We had them in varieties of "Admits One", "Admits Two", and "Family Pass" as well! We sent them out to all our friends using blue envelopes too!

The Party Favors
Here are the party favors that were made with love by both Noel and myself for the kids! As you can already guess, we had a Cookie Monster Party! And because the party shops here usually carry Elmo-themed party supplies and also a generic Sesame Street themed party supplies, we were left with no choice but to get creative for our Cookie Monster party.
A tedious process indeed it was, but we still had fun crafting these goodies ourselves and it sure made us feel good that our favors are truly personalised and special...and we can only hope they will be treasured as much as we loved making them!

The Party Day : Aloha Changi Fairypoint Chalet 5
The party was held a day earlier from Dray's actual birthday (13th April) on Sunday 12 April 2009 at Aloha Changi Fairypoint 5. Food was graciously prepared by our friend Nora's mom, who painstakingly cooked up a feast of traditional Malay dishes. As we always do on all our celebrations, we go overboard in the dessert section (haha) with cupcakes, coconut blossoms, sugared donuts, marshmallows, chocolate chip cookies...and we even rented a cotton candy machine for the kids!
And to keep the young ones occupied during the party, we rented toys from The Toy Rental Club, and the kids sure looked like they had a blast with the slides, swings, playhouses and rides that we got specially for them.

The Birthday Cake
We decided that it would make the celebration more special and meaningful if we baked Drayden's birthday cake ourselves, so with the help of our good friend, Jude, who gave us the awesome recipe, we made a delicious chocolate banana Cookie Monster birthday cake specially for our precious birthday boy! We even scoured for a Cookie Monster birthday candle!
We made three of these cakes, and Noel's mom made a special chocolate Cookie Monster cake for Drayden too, so the precious birthday boy had four delicious birthday cakes on his first birthday!

Drayden's "Smash" Cake
Apart from the birthday cakes that we made for Drayden, we also got a tiny "smash" cake for Drayden...for him to devour and have a ball of a time with when it strikes midnight and it is officially his birthday!
Drayden sure had a go at the cake, and it made for an awesome video and Kodak moment too!

Earlier that night...
Before the clock struck midnight and it was officially Drayden's birthday, but a little later than the birthday party that was held in the day, we had a BBQ for friends that stayed till late. It was also THEN that people started acting loopy and goofy! =)

So this was how our precious baby boy's first birthday was celebrated...
We had lots of presents to open the next day...and not to mention transport back home! =)
Thank you everyone for taking time to share the special day with us. Thank you for your well-wishes and your beautiful presents too. But most important of all, thank you for your presence, and making the day all the more memorable for us.
